This Proverb says, “He who separates himself seeks his own desire, he quarrels against all sound wisdom.” It is not healthy to live in isolation from other people. As human beings we need physical, emotional, and spiritual support. I believe this Proverb speaks of spiritual support.

The Bible says that Jesus Christ called the collective of those who believe in Him, His Church. The Church is Jesus’ body of believers. Jesus is the head of that body.

The Church was created for the purpose of nurture support and encouragement to strengthen and grow peoples’ Faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus knew that true Faith in Him would not occur or continue naturally. It would take perseverance and effort. The Church would help in that effort.

As believers we need to find other believers with whom we associate so that we may strengthen our Faith. We may find other believers in a formal church setting. We may also find them outside of a formal setting. Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered in My Name there am I.”

We must also be discerning in choosing an organization or group with whom we may grow spiritually. To that end we need to be firmly anchored in the Word of God. Then, we will be able to discern those with whom we should share our belief in Jesus Christ. If we base our selection on the Truth of God’s Word, we will likely succeed. We will find an association that will support our walk towards Salvation.
