This Proverb says, “In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.”
The Bible says that a person must have a healthy fear of the Lord if they want to walk the pathway that leads to Salvation. This healthy fear provides motivation to turn away from sins and resist the temptations that come to all of us. Without this motivation we would all give ourselves over to a sinful existence.
The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge.” it also says, “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” When we fear God we will desire to know how God wants us to live. To this end, God provided us with His Word, which we have in the Bible. The Bible gives us the knowledge we need to walk rightly before God. The Bible also gives us wisdom to know how to apply this valuable knowledge as we proceed through life.
When we are armed with God’s Truth from His Word, we will be able to successfully navigate our way through life. We will be able to avoid the snares of death that will lead us to destruction. God’s Word will give us confidence that we are on the right path, the path that leads to Heaven.
