These passages contain 3 Proverbs as follows: “A quick tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated. The naive inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. The evil will bow down before the good and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.”
The first Proverb indicates that a person who cannot control their anger acts rashly and makes very bad decisions. Their angry response in tense situations does not solve anything. Rather, it make things worse. A person who gives themselves to anger is foolish. However, a wise person will contain their anger. They will choose their words carefully in tense moments and diffuse the situation. The result of this approach produces far better results.
The second Proverb indicates that a naive or gullible person will base their decisions on falsehood. Therefore, their decisions will be foolish and cause failures in their life. Whereas, a prudent person carefully weighs the information they receive. Their decisions are well thought out and provide good results. When they experience the results of their good decisions, their knowledge and experiences will grow. They will then gain more knowledge with which to make future decisions.
The third Proverb indicates that good will eventually win out over evil. Evil may win for a while. However, good will eventually overcome the evil. The Bible says that ‘the gates of Hell will not prevail over the righteous.’ The Bible also says that evil will eventually be destroyed and removed from this world. I look forward to that day.
