This Proverb says, “A good man will obtain favor from the Lord, but He will condemn a man who devises evil. A man will not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will not be moved.”
When a person lives rightly before God by living according to the Word of God, they are building a strong foundation for their lives. They are building a foundation that will withstand the inevitable storms of life. They will not be moved or destroyed. Additionally, they will bear good fruit for themselves and their families.
Regarding the righteous man, the Bible says, “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water which yields fruit in its season.” The roots of this person’s life are attached to God. God will provide nourishment and strength to survive and to thrive.
However, a wicked person is not so established. A wicked person’s foundation is weak and flimsy, because this person rejects God. This person’s roots are attached to Satan who will destroy him or her.
The Bible says of the wicked person, “They are like chaff which the wind drives away.” God will reject such a person, and they will be lost forever.
Therefore, we should anchor our lives to the Word of God. The Bible should become ‘our daily bread,’ our spiritual food. God’s Word will nourish us and guide us. We will then be secure in God. God will bless us and will allow us into His Heaven after we die.
