This Proverb says, “The righteousness of the blameless will smooth his way, but the wicked will fall by their own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the treacherous will be caught by their own greed.”
When a person walks rightly before God, things work out for them as they live their lives. A righteous person may have challenges in their life with which they need to deal. However, they overcome these challenges without undue stress or disruption.
For example, they may have household maintenance problems. However they are able to solve these problems efficiently and effectively. They may have transportation issues such as a flat tire. These problems are also quickly solved. Things always seem to work out for those who walk rightly before God.
On the other hand, those who are wicked have many problems that are not easily solved. I have heard some people say, “If it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” Things never seem to work out well for such people.
A wicked person doesn’t believe in God, so they attribute their problems to what they call bad luck. They don’t realize that God controls everything in their lives. Their bad luck is simply the lack of God’s blessings. However, righteous people continually enjoy God’s blessings as He helps them through life.
