This Proverb says, “He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.”

The Bible says that where we put our heart is vitally important to our spiritual health. The Bible specifically says that we can love either money or God. We cannot love both. Money and riches are temporary. God is eternal. Money and riches can be a real stumbling block or barrier to walking the pathway of real life. It can take us away from God.

Therefore, if we should become wealthy we must hold our wealth very loosely. We should be generous and give freely to others in need, and we should live by the Bible’s guidance for us. We should not worry about losing our material wealth, because our real treasure is in Heaven.

The Bible says, “Seek first the Lord and His righteousness and the rest will be given to you as well.” The Bible indicates that a righteous person will succeed and prosper in whatever he or she does. God wants to bless and prosper us. However, He wants our loyalty and devotion to Him.

When we put our faith and trust in God through His Word, the Bible, He will indeed take care of us. We will want for nothing. More importantly, we will be well established on the pathway that leads to Heaven after we die.
