In this daily Bible reading Paul speaks to the Church at Philippi in Greece. Paul told them that we grow in our Faith in Jesus Christ as we learn more about Jesus. After we first believe in Jesus, a process called sanctification begins. We are transformed away from our sinful nature and way of life to walk rightly before God in our lives.
Paul tells them, “For I am confident of this very thing. That he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” The Bible says that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. It is a process which continues until we die. We do not instantly become people who are suitable for life in Heaven.
As we walk the pathway that leads to Heaven we will encounter challenging situations. These situations will test our Faith in Jesus Christ. Responding rightly during these tests will be difficult at first. However, these tests will have the effect of strengthening our Faith. As our Faith grows, our tests may become even more challenging. This will enable us to have even more Faith.
The Bible is essential to help us through our trials. The Bible tells us how to respond and keeps us from making the wrong decisions. God’s Word, the Bible, is a ‘lamp to our feet and a light to our path.’ It will sustain us and it will guide us ultimately to that small door that opens into Heaven.
