In this daily Bible reading Jesus dines with a chief tax gatherer, Zacchaeus, and tells a parable about a noble man who gave his servants a Mina each to invest. One servant invested and made ten more Minas. Another made five. However, one servant did not invest and only retained the single Mina.
When the noble man returned, he was angry with the servant who did not invest his Mina. The noble man commanded the servant to give his Mina to the servant who had ten Minas.
Jesus said, “To everyone who has shall more be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.”
It is vitally important to continue ‘investing in’ or reading the Word of God to gain further understanding. As one does this, I believe that God will reveal more Truths and teach one how to apply them.
The Bible says that we must ‘Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our minds, all our strength, and all our soul.’ Reading and studying God’s Word is essential to obeying this Commandment, which is the most important Commandment of all.
