In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, riding on a young donkey. The people who had witnessed Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and those who had witnessed Jesus’ other miracles were praising Jesus and calling Him the King of Israel.
Jesus did not become the King of Israel then. However, He will become the King of Israel and the world one day soon. Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem foreshadowed this coming marvelous event.
When Jesus comes to the Earth again, He will come in great glory, descending from above. His enemies will not have power over Him. Rather, Jesus will destroy His enemies.
Jesus will be King of Israel and the world. The Bible says that His government will consist of His followers: Those who remained true to Him until His return.
