In these passages, the writer speaks of God’s new covenant with Israel through Jesus Christ. Jesus’ singular sacrifice: His willing death on a Roman cross, atoned for the sins of mankind; past, present, and future for all time. But His death only atoned for the sins of those who would believe in Him. The Bible says that Jesus will return to the Earth again in his physical and resurrected body. He will return to rule Israel and the world. Jesus will be King.
The Bible says Jesus will also teach the people how to live. Specifically, He will teach the Jews in Israel and live with them The Bible says that the Gospel message of Jesus Christ is “for the salvation of those who believe, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” God’s primary goal is the salvation of his chosen people, Israel. But He will save all others who believe as well. You and me.
The Bible says God doesn’t want anyone to be lost. But God won’t force people to believe. They must believe in Jesus of their own accord. We will always have the freedom to choose. So, our future home will be totally dependent on our choices, specifically on our choice to believe in Jesus.
