In this daily Bible reading is the account of the Jews attempting to have Paul sent to Jerusalem from Caesarea to stand trial, so that they could kill Paul on the way. The new governor, Felix, asked Paul if he was willing to go to Jerusalem. Paul was aware of the Jews’ plot and told Felix that Paul was a Roman citizen. Paul then appealed to stand trial before Caesar in Rome.

This was all part of God’s plan to have Paul go to Rome and preach the Gospel message there. Jesus had personally told Paul that Paul must go to Rome for that purpose.

I am fascinated at how God orchestrates events to serve His purposes. All things happen for reasons and are part of God’s plan for all of us.

As I look back in my life I can see God’s hand in events that have guided and shaped me. I am a believer today because God guided me to believe. God drew me to Jesus. He then granted me repentance. God has chastised me for my sins, and He has given me a hunger for His Word.  Faith in God is now foundational in my life.  Praise God!
