In this daily Bible reading is the account of Paul and Barnabas continuing to preach the Gospel to both the Jews and Gentiles. Many of the Jews refuted and rejected the Gospel. However, some of the Jews and Gentiles believed.
The Bible says, “As many as had been appointed to Eternal Life believed.” God’s Elect will be receptive to God’s Truths and believe.
These passages also say that Paul and Barnabas were ‘urging them to continue in the grace of God.’ Some will believe the Truth for a while, but they may fall away. Only God’s elect will continue and persevere in their belief.
Believers will have many trials in their lives. The Bible says that true believers will be hated by the world, just as Jesus was hated by the world. As believers, we must expect hostility and stand firm in the Faith.
