In this daily Bible reading is the account of Peter preaching the Gospel message to Cornelius and his household. Peter assumed Cornelius was aware of Jesus and the miracles Jesus performed. This was widely known in Israel.
Peter illuminated for Cornelius Jesus’ purpose in performing miracles. Peter said, “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the Devil for God was with Him.” Jesus was freeing people from bondage to the Devil while Jesus was on Earth.
Jesus is freeing people of bondage to the devil today. Jesus is the Living Word of God, and He frees us from a sinful life. Our belief in Jesus saves us. This belief is validated by our living according to Word of God, the Bible. The Bible guides us out of a sinful life. I believe the Bible is essential for our Salvation.
