There are many professions in the world. In most if not all professions one must gain proper qualifications to do them. This usually involves education. Such education requires time and effort. There are no shortcuts.

It is not easy to gain the necessary qualifications and certificates. It involves much personal sacrifice and persistence. One must sacrifice personal pleasure and recreation for a period of time. The successful pursuit of a career involves near term pain for long term gain. It has financial benefits. However, pursuing a career also teaches a person self-discipline and the ability to endure. These qualities serve a person well in other areas of life.

Self-discipline and endurance are necessary for a person who wants to live a rightly before God. Living according to the Word of God will meet with much resistance in this world. It will require perseverance and commitment. But is well worth the effort. The Bible says, “He who endures to the end will be saved.”
