This Proverb says, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.” This proverb can be applied to timely compensation for a service performed. It can also be applied to a neighbor or person who has done you favor or a person who has helped you with a task.

In the case of an employer with hired help, an employer should not delay payment to his employees. This is especially true if the employer has the funds readily available. The hired help needs and relies on his or her wages to feed and shelter their own families. They should not be made to wait for the compensation that is due to them.

In the case of a person who has helped us with a task, they should also receive our help when they have a chore or task to perform. We may not be physically able to help with some tasks. However there are ways that we can help. We should therefore be ready willing and able to help in the areas where we have the capability to do so.

In these examples we are doing the right thing. In doing the right thing we will be pleasing the Lord. This will produce many blessings in our lives.
