In this daily Bible reading the writer relates to the Hebrews some deep spiritual Truths about Jesus being the High Priest of God. He says that some of these Truths are difficult for them to understand because they have ‘become dull of hearing.’ In other words, they heard the Gospel message that Jesus is the way to Salvation, but they did not continue to seek after the Truth. Therefore, they were only receptive to the basics.
There is so much more to learn about Jesus and about God. However, one must personally seek out more of God’s Truths. The Bible says, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.” God will teach us if we diligently pursue knowledge.
The Bible is the world’s only source of pure Truth. We must read the Bible frequently to absorb God’s Truths. In so doing we will be getting ‘solid food.’ The writer to the Hebrews said, “Solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.” When we become well-versed in the Bible we are then able to discern between good and evil, between truth and lies. Lies become obvious when we know the Truth well. The Bible arms us to stand against evil in the world. The Bible will guide us on the pathway to Salvation, the pathway to Heaven.
