In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus, on the night before He was to be crucified, washing the disciples’ feet. Peter resisted Jesus. However, Jesus told Peter, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
I believe that Jesus was saying we must be cleansed from sin in our life to have a part with Jesus. It is Jesus who cleanses us of our sins.
The Bible says that Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God. We therefore are cleansed by reading, studying and obeying what the Bible tells us to do. It is the only way.
The Bible says, “Thy Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” The Bible reveals obstacles that increase our temptation to sin. It also illuminates the path we should follow to avoid sin.
