In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus eating dinner with a Pharisee named Simon. While at dinner, a ‘sinful woman’ came to Jesus and washed His feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. Then she anointed Jesus with perfume.
The Pharisee disapproved of Jesus allowing such a sinful woman to touch Jesus. Jesus told Simon that she was forgiven for her sins because she demonstrated her great repentance for her many sins. Jesus also told the woman, “Your Faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Being God the Son, Jesus knew that the woman’s Faith was genuine. The Bible says, “We are saved by Grace through Faith.” The Bible also says, “Without Faith it is impossible to please God.” God desires us to have true Faith in His Son Jesus Christ. We must sustain that Faith until the end of our lives in order to be allowed into Heaven.
