In this daily Bible reading Paul speaks to those who reject the Gospel message because they don’t believe it. The Bible says that the Gospel message is foolishness to the world. Paul said to the Corinthians,” The Gospel message is veiled to those who are perishing.”
The Bible says that Satan is the spiritual ruler of this world, and he goes about blinding the minds of those who will not believe in Jesus. Satan uses the world’s logic to turn people away from belief. Therefore, belief in Jesus will mean turning against the world’s logic.
If we turn away from the world’s logic we may be ridiculed for our belief. We should expect this and be spiritually prepared so that we do not become discouraged. The battle is spiritual, not physical. So our defense must be spiritual.
The Bible says that we must arm ourselves spiritually to stand against evil in this world. The Bible is a very important part of that spiritual armor. It is ‘the belt of truth.’ It is also ‘the sword of the spirit.’ The Bible serves as both a defense and an offense against evil.
As believers we are not called to be passive. Rather, we are called to resist evil and even expose it. As believers we must have courage to walk according to the Word of God. It is not an easy walk, but it is the best choice. It will lead to many blessings in this life. More importantly, it will lead us to Heaven.
