In this daily Bible reading Paul tells the Corinthians, “Test yourselves to see if you are in the Faith; examine yourselves.” Indeed, believers can test themselves to see if their Faith is genuine.
The Bible says that true believers will love God more than they love money. One cannot love both God and money. Do our daily decisions prioritize God or prioritize gaining wealth?
The Bible says that true believers will consider the poor and helpless. Do we give any thought to helping the poor and helpless? Or are we self-absorbed in our daily lives?
The Bible says that we should teach our children about God through His Word. Do we do that? How do we do that?
The Bible says that true believers will consider others as more important than themselves. Do we do that? Or are we prideful and self-absorbed?
The Bible says that true believers will delight themselves in the Word of God. Do we love the Bible and follow its guidance? Do we even read the Bible on a daily basis? Yes, there are many ways to test ourselves to see if we are in the Faith.
The Bible lists the characteristics of true believers. I believe that as we read the Bible, God will change us so that we will develop characteristics of the truly faithful. It is a process which the Bible calls Sanctification. In this process we are being transformed away from worldly behavior to become the people that God wants us to become.
