In this daily Bible reading Paul tells the Corinthian Church that he has suffered many afflictions, even to the point of death. However, God had comforted Paul during his afflictions. Paul said his experience with his afflictions enabled him to comfort others who were going through afflictions. Paul said, “Just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.”
God will indeed test believers to see if their Faith is real. Some of these tests will be uncomfortable and painful. However, God also provides comfort during those trials, so that we can endure the suffering.
The Bible says that God gives believers peace that surpasses all understanding. He also grants us the patience to wait on Him for our Salvation. God will sometimes place us in such desperate positions that our only option is to trust in Him. That is actually a good place to be if we truly Trust God. This thinking is contrary to the world’s thinking, but it is right thinking. It is this thinking that will lead a person to Heaven.
