1 Timothy 5:1-25

In this daily Bible reading Paul says that “the sins of some men are quite evident going before them to judgement; for others, their sins follow after.” Paul also said that bad deeds cannot be concealed. The Bible says that God knows our sins and bad deeds. We cannot hide them, and God will one day bring them to light. We must therefore repent and express sorrow for our sins before God. The Bible says that God will forgive our sins if and only if we repent of them and believe in Jesus Christ, whose shed blood atoned for our sins.

Jesus’ shed blood covers our sins if we believe in Jesus. However, we cannot rightly believe in Jesus unless we rightly characterize Him. The only way to rightly characterize Jesus is to read the Bible. The Bible tells us who Jesus is. The Bible says that Jesus is the Word of God. Therefore the entire Bible characterizes Jesus. As we read the Bible we get to know Him.

The Bible says that knowing Jesus gives us Eternal Life. We cannot have Eternal Life unless we know Jesus. Therefore, I believe that the Bible is essential to our Salvation.  It must be part of our daily lives to teach us, guide us, and sustain us spiritually.
