In this daily Bible reading Paul speaks to the Corinthians about life after death. Paul said that believers will be raised from the dead, just as Jesus was raised from the dead.
There are different opinions in the Christian community as to when this event will happen. Some believe that it will happen before the Great Tribulation, the seven years prior to Jesus’ return. These people have called this the ‘rapture’ of the church. Others believe that it will happen when Jesus returns. I agree with the latter opinion.
Paul said, “We shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” The Bible speaks of the coming judgments on the earth. Some of these judgments are called the ‘Trumpet judgments.’ A trumpet will sound seven times accompanied by various disasters that God will bring upon the Earth.
When the final or seventh trumpet sounds, the Bible says that the Earth will be given to Jesus as He returns to begin His Millennial Kingdom. I think it is at that moment, the last trumpet, that believers will be raised from the dead. They will then be with Jesus during His Millennial Kingdom and beyond.
