In this daily Bible reading Paul tells the Jews that “they are not all Israel who descended from Israel; neither are they all children (of Israel) because they are Abraham’s descendants.” God is the creator. He has created some people to believe; and He has created some who will not believe. I’m not sure why this is true, but the Bible clearly communicates this fact.
God has elected some people for Salvation. Others are appointed for destruction. I believe God made it this way to provide a setting and an environment for true believers to grow in their Faith. Accordingly, God has provided adversity and distraction through the nonbelievers to test or prove the Faith of believers.
God has also allowed deception to occur to determine if His followers are well anchored in the Word of God. The Bible says that these deceptions and adversities will get stronger as the time of Jesus Christ’s return draws near. It is vital for believers to be well established in God’s Word, the Bible. It is the only sure way to combat deception.
The Bible says that our struggle is against spiritual forces. Non-believers are influenced by spiritual forces to attack believers. Therefore we must put on the full armor of God to survive this onslaught of evil. Two of those implements of armor involve the Bible: the ‘belt of truth’ and the ‘sword of the spirit.’ The Bible provides both a defense and an offense in our battle against evil. I believe the Bible is essential to our Salvation.
