In these passages the writer continues to define Israel’s pattern of turning away from God when they became prosperous and comfortable. When God blessed Israel, Israel prospered and became strong. However, when they were prosperous and strong they forgot God. They forgot what God had done for them, and they turned to demonic worship.
That is why it is so important to teach our children and future generations about God. Knowledge of God does not come naturally. It must be taught. Otherwise, future generations will not know the Truth. They will be subject to lies and deception. They will give themselves over to their natural sinful behavior.
I believe that God gave us His Truth in the form of the Bible. The Bible is readily available to all people. However, they must be motivated to read it and live by its Truths. This motivation can only be come from being exposed to the Bible.
Therefore, it is incumbent on those who know the Bible to pass on their knowledge on to others. This will become more difficult as we approach the ‘end times.’ The world in general rejects the Bible. The Bible says this rejection will increase. We must therefore cling tenaciously to our belief and not let the world influence us.
