This Psalm prophesies about Jesus. Specifically, it prophecies about Jesus when He returns to be King of the Earth. The Psalmist writes, “Thy throne O God is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore, God Thy God has anointed Thee with the oil of joy above Thy fellows.”
When Jesus becomes King, the world will have the best king that has ever existed on Earth. His rule will be characterized by Truth, Righteousness, and Justice. People will live securely, and the world will experience true peace. There will be no wars, and the people will prosper. People will also live longer and healthier lives.
The Bible says that there will no longer be any crime. Evil will be contained. The Bible also says that God will bind Satan so that he cannot deceive the people. Satan’s confinement will last for 1000 years. People will be given a final chance to believe in Jesus. Then will come the final ‘throne judgment’ of God to determine who will go to Heaven and who will go to Hell.
