In this Psalm David continues to speak of those around him who are not faithful, those who seek David’s destruction. David says of them, “They devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.”

David was a person who was loyal to God.  He lived his life in obedience to God and pleased God. David could be likened to true believers today who are faithful to God.

True believers are not popular in the world, which Satan spiritually rules. The world is generally given over to sinful pursuits. True believers are against sinful pursuits.  As a result, they are quite unpopular. The world hates true believers.

This contrast is openly revealed in the American election process. Frequently opposing candidates display their opposing worldviews. One candidate may support the world’s values. The other candidate may support Christian values. For example, one candidate favors abortion. The other rightly considers abortion to be murder.

The Bible says this opposing view will be magnified as the end times approach. The world will attempt to destroy true believers. However, the Bible says Jesus will return and destroy those who are not believers.
