In this Psalm the writer speaks about God helping and protecting Israel from Israel’s enemies. The Bible says that God chose Israel out of all peoples in the Earth to be His. Because of this, Israel has been Satan’s target of destruction.

The Bible says that Satan is the spiritual ruler of the Earth. Satan is evil and promotes sin. As a result, the world is steeped in sin. The Bible says that God hates sin and will not coexist with sin. About 5000 years ago God removed the world’s sinful population with a flood.

Since the flood, the world has again become immersed in sin. However, instead of destroying the world again, God provided a way to forgive mankind of sin. That way is Jesus Christ. Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of mankind. His shed blood atones for the sins of all who will believe in Him.

However, Jesus was a Jew, and His sacrifice was primarily for the Jewish population. Because of this, Satan is determined to destroy Israel. However, God is protecting His chosen people, Israel.

The Bible says that Satan’s attacks on Israel will continue until Jesus returns to the Earth.  When Jesus returns, Satan will be restrained from further attacks and attempts to destroy Israel.
