This Proverb says, “He who turns his ear away from listening to the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” This Proverb indicates that God doesn’t listen to all prayers. God will not listen to the prayers of a person who doesn’t strive to walk rightly before him. The prayers of such a person are repugnant to God.
The Bible says, “The prayers of a righteous man avails much.” The Bible says that a righteous person is one who believes in God and lives his or her life according to God’s guidance. They live rightly. Therefore, they are deemed to be righteous. Their prayers are heard and answered. Because these people live rightly before God, their prayers are in line with things that God approves. Therefore God will hear their prayer and grant them their request.
The Bible says that God desires us to be true to Him and have faith in Him. This Faith is evidenced by our thoughts, actions, and words. Our Faith is evidenced by the lives we lead rather than the words we say. We must practice what we preach, so to speak.
It is not easy to always choose right thoughts, words, and deeds. However, it is necessary to try if we want to remain on the path that leads to Heaven.
