This Proverb says, “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” The Bible characterizes those who believe as being righteous. The wicked are those who do not believe in God. They are given to their sin and live sinful lives.

Belief in God gives a person courage. The believer places his or her trust in God. They know that God will help them out of difficult situations. They also know that God is in control. Whatever happens to us is in God’s hands. Therefore, believers do not have to worry or be afraid to face life’s challenges.

A non-believer on the other hand seems to be fearful of many things. They don’t have the benefit of knowing God is in control. They think that they are in control of what happens to them. Therefore, they are fearful in situations that they cannot control.

A good example of this was the recent COVID epidemic. Some people were very fearful and wore masks unnecessarily. They took multiple COVID shots to protect themselves. I believe that these people were likely non-believers. They didn’t believe in God. They didn’t trust God to protect them.

There are many benefits to believing in God. One of those benefits is to be courageous and not fearful. It is a much more pleasant way to live. Believers live lives that are free of anxiety. More importantly, believers live lives that will lead them to Heaven.
