This Proverb says, “He who assaults his father and drives his mother away is a shameful and disgraceful son.” A person who strikes his father has crossed a line in the eyes of God. He has crossed a very serious line.
In roughly 1500 BC Moses led Israel out of Egypt to the promised land. This event is known as the Exodus. Israel’s population was about 1,000,000. During the Exodus, God gave Israel laws by which they were to live. One of God’s laws included dealing with rebellious children. God directed that children who were rebellious and disobedient were to be stoned to death. He demanded that children be obedient to their parents.
God also gave Israel the 10 Commandments. One of those Commandments was about how to children were to treat parents. This Commandment says, “Honor Thy father and mother.” The blessing for obeying this commandment was specifically stated as living a long life. The implication here is that a person will die early if they don’t honor their father and mother.
A person who assaults his father and drives his mother away is definitely not honoring his father or mother. I believe that God will severely punish such a person. That person will probably die early. They may also spend eternity in Hell.
