These passages say, “It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established on righteousness. Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and he who speaks right is loved.”
What is an abomination? An abomination is something that causes disgust. It is something that is disgraceful, evil, and repulsive. Wickedness is repulsive to God. The Bible says that God is righteous and Holy. He will not tolerate or abide with wickedness.
The Bible also says that God selects kings. A person occupies a throne because God has allowed it to be so. God wants His selected rulers to lead with integrity and walk rightly before Him. However, Satan has influenced some leaders to turn away from God and righteousness to wickedness.
The Bible indicates that leaders are a reflection of society. They reflect the values of the people they lead. A country with corrupt and low moral values will elect a person with corrupt and low moral values. Whereas a people with integrity and good morality with elect good and strong leaders who exude honor and integrity.
America was once a great country with strong ethics and good moral standards. It had great leaders that were held in high esteem around the world. Unfortunately, America has degraded in morality, honor and integrity over the years. With the exception of our current leader, recent leadership has reflected this.
