These passages say, “A divine decision is in the lips of the king; His mouth should not err in judgement. A just balance and scales belongs to the Lord; all weights in the bag are His concern.”
The Bible says that kings and leaders are ordained by God. He places them in their positions of leadership for His purposes. Some leaders are good. Whereas others are not. Some are honest and just, but others are not.
The Bible indicates that God is fair, just, and righteous. One day, God will place His Son, Jesus, on the throne of Israel. Jesus will be the best king that Israel has ever had. His decisions will be divine, and He will not err in judgement.
God’s standard for His good leaders also extends to all people. God wants his people to be fair and honest in their dealings with each other. God doesn’t endorse or bless dishonest gain. He doesn’t favor those who cheat others.
There are times when we may have opportunities for fraudulent gain through dishonesty. We must not give in to such temptations. One good example of this is to file a fraudulent insurance claim. Another example is to cheat on one’s taxes.
God will see all of our dealings with other people and deal with us as we deserve. It is not wise to create a situation where God is angry with us. That will not lead to anything good.
