This Proverb says, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayers of the righteous.”

The Bible indicates that God does not hear or answer all prayers. Rather, He answers prayers that are in accordance with His Word. The Bible says, “Delight yourself in the lord and he will grant you the desires of your heart.” Those who delight themselves in the Lord believe in God and live their lives according to God’s Word, the Bible.  Such people are grounded in Truth rather than the world’s deceptions and lies.

The Bible also says that God desires those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Jesus Christ is the Truth. He is also the living Word of God. Therefore, worshiping God in Truth means that one believes in Jesus and has faith in God’s Word. Such faith is not merely professed. Rather, it is faith that is evidenced through a person’s thoughts, words, and deeds.

Today we see many people who profess to be Christians.  However, their lives do not reflect their words. This is blatantly apparent with some of America’s leaders. I seriously doubt that God hears the prayers of such people. Only God knows.

However, the Bible indicates our prayers are more likely to be heard and answered when we truly believe in God and Jesus Christ. This belief must be evidenced by the lives we lead.
