This Proverb says, “He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” People are influenced by those with whom they associate. Family, friends, and work associates have differing worldviews. They will express these views to us at various times during our association with them. We will also observe how they respond to different situations. All of these occasions will have an influence on how we behave and how we view the world around us.

It is likely that some of the people in our life will believe in God. However, some will be not believe in God. Those who believe in God and live by the Word of God will likely provide us with wise counsel.

As this Proverb indicates, we will become wise if we are influenced by those who are wise. We will make good decisions, and our lives will be blessed. However, if we regularly associate with those who do not believe in God and are not wise, we may make bad decisions in our life and suffer harm for it. Therefore, we must be careful in choosing our friends.
