In this daily Bible reading God tells Moses to prepare or consecrate the Levites to serve God in the Tabernacle. The Levites were set apart from the other tribes of Israel, and their lives were to be dedicated to God.

However, only those Levites between the age of 25 and 50 were to enter to perform service in the work of the Tabernacle. Evidently, God viewed those under the age of 25 to have insufficient experience to serve Him. Perhaps God viewed those over 50 not to be strong enough to perform the physically demanding priestly duties. These duties included sacrificing large animals.

I do not believe that young Christians today have sufficient experience or seasoning to effectively teach others about the Bible. They have not lived long enough to experience the trials of life and have not experienced the power of God’s Word in their lives.

Additionally, young Christians do not have the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge necessary to apply the Word of God. They cannot share many personal experiences of God’s help in their lives. Sharing such experiences is effective in helping others to believe in Jesus Christ.
