In this daily Bible reading the Pharisees attributed Jesus healing powers to Satan, saying, “This man casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.” Jesus responded telling them that their statement did not make sense, because Satan would be dividing his own kingdom. Jesus also told them that Jesus’ casting out demons demonstrated that Jesus was stronger than Satan.
By leveling such accusations, the Pharisees were blaspheming the Holy Spirit of God. They were committing what Jesus said is the ‘unpardonable sin.’ They were blaspheming the Holy Spirit and they were rejecting the living Word of God, Jesus Christ. Rejecting Jesus today can result in an unpardonable sin.
The Bible says that Jesus is the only way to Salvation. There is no other way to get into Heaven. Therefore, rejecting Jesus means refusing to follow the only way to Heaven. Rejecting Jesus may result in spending an eternity in Hell.
The Bible says that if we die in our unbelief, we will not go to Heaven. We would all be well advised to think about this Truth. We would be well advised to believe in Jesus Christ if we want to go to Heaven.
