In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus being interrogated by the high priest, the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. These people were trying to find something with which they could condemn Jesus to death.

They could not find anything worthy of death. Then the high priest said to Jesus, “Are you the Christ, the son of the Blessed One?” Jesus said, “I am, and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of Heaven.”

When Jesus said this, the high priest accused Jesus of blasphemy which was punishable by death. All the priests, scribes, and elders agreed. Prior to this moment, Jesus had not revealed His true identity. It is ironic that Jesus was condemned to death for telling this wonderful Truth.

The Bible says that a time is coming that the Bible calls the Great Tribulation. During this time many who believe in Jesus Christ will be put to death for their belief. Telling the truth will cost many believers their life. However, they will go to Heaven after they die. Believers must keep their focus on the afterlife and be ready to endure great suffering and even death. The Bible says that ‘those who endure to the end will be saved.’
