In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus and His disciples returning to Jerusalem. As they passed through Jericho, a blind beggar called out to Jesus, saying, “Jesus, Son of David have mercy on me.” Jesus called the blind beggar and asked the beggar, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind beggar said to Jesus, “I want to regain my sight.” Jesus then restored the beggar’s sight and said to him, “Your Faith has made you well.”

I believe this story highlights two important points. If we want to be healed of our spiritual afflictions, we must acknowledge that we have spiritual afflictions. We must confess our spiritual afflictions or sinful behavior to Jesus. Secondly, we must have Faith that Jesus can and will heal us.

I believe that many people sin, but they are not aware of or admit that they are sinning. The Bible says that Jesus has the power to forgive our sins. However, we must first repent of our sins. We cannot repent of our sins unless we know we have sinned or are sinning.

The world may tell us that we are not sinning or doing anything wrong. However, the world is not the standard. The Bible is the standard by which we must judge ourselves. We should therefore measure our behavior by the Bible’s standards and repent of the sins that are in our lives. Then, we can be healed.
