In this daily Bible reading Jesus tells the multitudes the parable of the sower. This is a graphic illustration of the fact that a one-time profession of belief in Jesus will not guarantee a person’s entry into Heaven. There are many who hear the Word of God and accept it with joy. However, later they fall away because of temptations and persecutions for believing.
Also, in these passages Jesus said, “Take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him shall more be given; and whoever does not have even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.” I believe that Jesus is speaking about the Word of God. Those who believe God’s Word to be true understand the Word when they read. God then speaks to them through His Word expanding their knowledge of His Truths.
The key here is that a person must first believe God’s Word to be Truth. Then, God will teach them and give them more Truths that they will be able to understand and apply in their lives.
