In this daily Bible reading God speaks to Moses, instructing Moses about cleansing people who had various afflictions. Some of the afflictions were contagious, and people had to be isolated until they were cured. Once people were cured, they were required to offer a sacrifice for their sins. This further validates my belief that there is a linkage between diseases and sin.
Many are physically afflicted today because of sin in their lives. However, they do not perceive sin as a root cause of their affliction. They think that disease is just a normal side effect of life. They superficially treat their affliction with many medicines, and they become enslaved with many pills. Many also live with great fear of getting sick.
We saw this with the coronavirus pandemic. People without God in their lives seemed to live in constant fear about getting coronavirus. However, people with God in their lives lived courageously, knowing that God is in control. They may have taken precautions, but they were not gripped with fear.
Many people wore face masks. I believe that people without God in their lives wore masks out of fear for themselves. Whereas, people with God in their lives wore the masks out of courtesy for others who lived in fear. It is much better to have God in one’s life.
