In these passages, Jesus tells the people that He is ‘the door.’ Jesus said, “If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved.” Those who try to enter by another way will not be saved.
Jesus also describes His followers as ‘sheep’ who recognize His voice and come to Him.’ The Bible says that Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God. Those who are drawn to read the Bible recognize Jesus’ voice. They are compelled to read and study Bible regularly. The Bible becomes to them their spiritual food, and it nourishes them spiritually.
The Bible says that Jesus is the ‘Bread of Life.’ He who eats this bread will have Eternal Life, abundant life. Jesus is speaking of spiritual food that nourishes our spirit. We eat this food when we read the Bible. In a spiritual sense we are then eating the Jesus, the Bread of Life. Without this ‘Bread of Life’ we will starve, and we may die spiritually.
