In this daily Bible reading the Lord says through Jeremiah: “Blessed is the man who trusts the Lord and his trust is in the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes. But its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.” This trust is essential if one wants to go to Heaven.
The pathway to Heaven is not an easy path. There will be many trials along the way. Sometimes those trails may seem impossible to overcome, and the way forward may not seem clear. We may not have a solution. However, it is in those times that we most need to trust Jesus for the outcome. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
Jesus will help us to stay on the pathway to Heaven. He will sustain us, guide us, and to nourish us. Just as a tree’s roots need water, we too need the living water of Jesus Christ. We must become firmly rooted in Him to survive spiritually and bear fruit. The Bible says that ‘Jesus is the branch and we are the vines.’ Accordingly, we cannot bear fruit in our lives unless we are spiritually attached to Jesus.
