In this daily Bible reading Isaiah again prophesies about God’s coming judgment and destruction of those who are against God. The destruction will be worldwide, and God will totally destroy all the world’s armies.
However, there will be some people who will survive this terrible time. Isaiah describes the characteristics of those who will survive this destructive ordeal: “He who walks righteously, and speaks with sincerity, he who rejects unjust gain and shakes his hands so that they hold no bribes; he who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed, and shut his eyes from looking on evil.” The Bible says that God will protect some of these people from being killed.
The Bible also says that many of the Saints will be killed during this period. However, they will be raised from the dead to serve with Jesus in his Millennial Kingdom. God will preserve his own whether they are physically dead or alive.
What is most important, though, is the state of one’s spirit whether dead or alive. Those who are spiritually alive in Jesus Christ will be allowed to dwell with Jesus during his Millennial Kingdom. They will not face God’s final judgement which will occur after Jesus’ 1000 year reign here on the Earth.
