In this daily Bible reading is the account of the Ark coming to rest on Mount Ararat, which is in present-day Turkey. Noah and his family were in the Ark for about a year before the water receded so that they could leave the Ark. After one year in the Ark, Noah, his family and all of the animals left the ark. God commanded them to be fruitful, multiply, and refill the Earth.  He made a covenant with Noah that God would never again cause such a flood to destroy all living things. God promised that He would never again destroy all life on the Earth. However, God will one day destroy most life on the Earth to once again purge the Earth of sin.

When God destroyed all life on the Earth with the flood, only one man was deemed righteous in God’s eyes: Noah. Now, there are more people that God deems to be righteous. These are those who believe in Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that when Jesus gave his life on the Roman cross, His shed blood atoned for the sins of those who would believe in Him. God forgives the sins of those who believe in Jesus. God sees them as righteous.

Those who believe in Jesus will be allowed to be with Jesus in his Millennial Kingdom. Jesus’ Kingdom will be established on Earth after God removes those who do not believe in Jesus. The Earth will once again be purged of sin.
