In this daily Bible reading God instructs Moses in great detail the construction and assembly of the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle would be the place of worship for Israel during the Exodus journey. So, it had to be portable, easy to assemble and disassemble. The curtains had hooks and loops, and the boards were joined with tenons and sockets. The Tabernacle would be transported with wagons pulled by oxen. God wanted Israel to be organized, orderly and healthy. Most of God’s Commandments for Israel were for their good health and efficiency.
So, it is with the people of God today. Following God’s guidance given by His Word will lead to lives of order, good health, and prosperity. God wants us to be diligent and not lazy in our daily lives. He did not put us on the Earth to lay around and be self-indulgent. Those who are lazy and self-indulgent live in poverty, pain and poor health. Israel prospered when they obeyed God. They lived in misery when they did not obey God. Living according to God’s guidance is always the right choice.
