In this daily Bible reading Moses details the blessings the people will enjoy if they obey God and observe His commandments and statutes. Moses also details the curses that will befall Israel if they do not obey God and turn away to worship other gods.
Israel did turn away from God, and the curses detailed in these passages did happen. The lists of blessings and curses are revealing and applicable even today. We see blessings being bestowed upon believers and the curses plaguing the wicked.
The Bible says, “Blessed is the man who fears the Lord and walks in His ways.” It also says that believers will enjoy the fruits of their labors. Their families will be secure and intact, and they will prosper in whatever they do.
Obedience to God and living by the Word of God is certainly worth the effort. Simply put, it will lead to a happier life. More importantly, it will lead a person to Heaven.
