In this daily Bible reading Moses continues to instruct the people in what they are to do when they enter the land. Moses affirms that Israel is God’s chosen people; and God will set them above all nations on the Earth. However, this is conditional on them remaining faithful to God. The processes that God established would keep the people ever mindful of God and how they are to behave.
Moses was a leader who kept God’s requirements ever before the people, so that they were mindful of them. However, later leadership would purposefully lead the people away from God. As a result, God turned from them.
We see this in America today. America’s morals and goodness have deteriorated under bad leadership and governance. Poor leadership has led America away from God.
An example of this was removing prayer from the schools in 1962. Since prayer was removed from the schools, education has degraded, families have disintegrated, and sexually transmitted diseases have dramatically increased. America has become a godless nation. I believe God’s final judgment for America is rapidly approaching.
