In this daily Bible reading Moses continues to instruct Israel on how to conduct itself in the land they would occupy. The overall theme is one of order, justice, cleanliness, and loyalty to God. Of note to me this morning was the instruction regarding sanitation. They were to have their bathrooms outside the camp, and they were to bury their excrement.
The Bible says that nations would be blessed through Abraham and his seed. I believe that we can identify countries today that are blessed and could be in the lineage of Abraham by their order and sanitation. These countries have sewage plants, and it is safe to drink the water.
However, having prosperity and sanitation does not assure one’s entry into Heaven after they die. God’s salvation plan is available to all who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation is available to all who will believe and evidence that belief through living their lives according to the Word of God.
