In this daily Bible reading Moses instructs the people on the feasts to be observed when they enter the land: The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Booths. He also instructed them on having judges appointed in all their towns.

Moses also instructed them on one day placing a King over Israel. God would select the King. The King was to write for himself a copy of the law that God gave Moses. Additionally, the King was to read the law throughout his life. This would enable him to ‘learn to fear the Lord his God’ and guide the people according to God’s laws.

God blessed Israel when they had a king who ruled according to God’s law. However, Israel had kings who departed from God’s law and led the people astray. This resulted in Israel being removed from the land.

The Bible says that God will return Israel to the land. They will have a King who will follow God’s laws and will guide the people with righteousness. That King will be Jesus Christ.  Today, Israel is returning to the land.  I believe that Jesus will return to be their King very soon, perhaps in my lifetime.
